Environmental Stewardship (ESG) is convening a prayer walk on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 pm. People of all faiths, ages and persuasions are invited to show support for the commitment of the US and 160+ nations to fight climate change at the World Climate Summit in Paris, December 1-11.
Marchers will meet at the Sacred Garden at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 209 W. Fisher Avenue. The walk will go through downtown to Faith Community Church, 417 Arlington Street, site of a solar energy system, then back through downtown to the Franciscan Center, 233 N. Greene Street. If unable to walk the complete 3-mile distance, people can join marchers at Holy Trinity or when they stop at Faith Community Church (2:50) or the Franciscan Center (3:40). At each stop, people will offer statements of hope and prayers for the Climate Summit and learn what individuals and faith communities can do to help change climate trends and secure a healthy future for all.
