And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness.

COMMUNITY

Regional Partner Groups of NC IPL

NC IPL is currently developing Regional Partner Groups to fulfill the mission of our organization by expanding the reach and impact of our program through local leaders who strengthen grassroots participation and support for NC IPL advocacy, education, and outreach efforts in key areas of the state (largely through increased congregational participation).

These groups will be provided networking and training opportunities on an ongoing basis (including annual continuing education, bi-monthly conference calls, and eventually an invitation to an annual statewide NC IPL conference).   These opportunities serve to inform Regional Partner Group leaders about new  NC IPL programs, to build capacity in order to implement programs locally, and to re/energize our regional volunteer base.  In exchange, these groups will perform outreach and awareness efforts, and serve as a NC IPL resource in local communities and congregations.

Regional Partner Groups are composed of local religious leaders and representatives from local denominational and interfaith community organizations. This local leadership structure provides a forum for engaging local leaders and religious organizations in NC IPL and IPL-US issues. Regional Partner Groups engage in coalition-type relationships with other local and regional organizations to help in our outreach efforts in the interfaith community and also work with local utilities to provide updated information to NC IPL members concerning energy efficiency and rebate programs.

NC IPL is currently scheduling trainings for Regional Partner Groups throughout the state. If you are interested in joining a group or would like to start one in your area, please contact us at 828-252-1794 or info@ncipl.org.

Cool Congregations

Congregations may choose to formalize their commitment to NC IPL’s mission by signing our CERTIFICATE of PARTICIPATION.  NC IPL’s Certificate of Participation contains several actions that your congregation may take as you begin or deepen the process of becoming a more environmentally-aware faith community. Your congregation and its members may already have implemented some of these actions, or are contemplating doing so. The actions below are intended as starting points and guideposts in this process, and provide suggestions and links to resources that should prove helpful as you deepen your commitment and response to global warming.
